To do something active in a new region is a very good idea in terms of BT.
For example:
Early morning jog in a suburb where you are staying gives you a taste of the air, environ-
ment and even the domestic architecture;
Participating in a cycling event provides an opportunity to catch up with locals and have
that countryside feel;
Going to a Cheese and Wine festival at a local winery is a
good way to get touch with some cultural elements;
Stopping at pick-your-own orchard is a nice thing to observe
agricultural features;
... and so on.
Normally there are plenty of events around for every taste: from a weekly 5km run by a local
running club to a Shakespeare-in-the-Park performance.
However, the smaller an event is (and the likely to be more interesting for BT) the greater the
chance of missing it. Somebody local and experienced, like
us, can suggest ...
