Not sure how Apache server creators made up their mind about the name, but we were inspired by the same North American Indian theme while traveling through Rocky Mountains to Vancouver in 2007 after participating in a sport event in Calgary.
Yes, Istoookshuk is the close brother of Inukshuk, who's fame crossed every possible boundary after the winter Olympic Games 2010.
